How often do people have problems with the MMI in the A6?

Tame Tech, is it something you see as a regular feature of MMI, things like failed cd units, failed phone units?

Phone unit are common, some were changed as part of an enhancement (non safety recall).

You get the odd Nav unit or CD multichanger problem, but other than that just the occasional software crash, nothing really goes wrong.

Only other thing that springs to mind is Avant only. Screen wash gets in the Amp, Radio and Nav, all the units in the nearside rear wing. Seen a few do that, washer pipe that goes to the rear washer jet cracks where the boot lid open and closes it makes it weak. Again there was an enhancement for this when that shape A6 was quite new, But have seen the washer pipe split on ones the were done so it wasnt 100% fix.

Again cant say its that common, I've seen probably 3 or 4 cars do that in 3 and half years. We probably did the enhancement to 30 or 40 odd.

Mine has a sort of loop issue where you get radio for 5 secons, silence for 5 seconds etc. The controls just flick back to the top of the list so you cant use anything. This has happenned several times before. My MMI is now having its 3rd new phone module and second autochanger control unit. It has had all of the software upgrades. warranty work has been done on tyhe MMI 13 times in 2.5 years. I am going to ask that they install a whole new MMI system whilst the car is uunder warranty.
