Air vent piping in driver's footwell

In the driver's footwell of my V8S, there is a loose length of black 'ribbed' (oo-err) piping.

I'm assuming that the end of this should actually be attached to the golf-ball in the centre dash, or indeed the golf-ball in the 'exterior' wall of the footwell (indeed both may be loose)

Question(s) is/are:
Is it possible to re-attached these to the golf-balls without the hairy task of removing the entire dash board?

Is fixing the footwell one an easier prospect?

Any hints and tips (in addition to Pies 'S3, S4 and V8 Switch Panel removal')

I have two hoses to the upper right hand side of the drivers footwell,I'll try and get a photo up later if it would help (sending big files at the mo
