I have just placed an order for some parts from JonB thinking of getting some slicks for my old 17"wheels also some mitchelins. If anybody would like some tyres it maybe cheaper to ship a few. Also are there suppliers over here at a reasonable price ? Has NGTS still got those half shafts ?

Do slicks not require a dry sump?

Depends on the sump characteristics - it has to be a good wet sump to cope with slicks. The oil surging is that much higher with slicks due to the extra cornering forces.

That being said, this information comes from my brothers Caterham experience, might be different for a Viper - suggest you ask on the US forum to see if anyone's used them on a stock car before. You might be able to re-engineer the stock sump to cope.

Pre 2000 cars you can fit a larger sump pan to (OE on 2000+ Vipers) and well worth getting is the baffel kit and windage tray (for any track use). Easy fit, a couple of trap doors into the pan which help keep the oil where it should be under G forces.
If you've big brakes Stoptechs fitted, I think you'll find the 17" rims will no longer clear the brake calipers to fit 17"s back on!

Thanks I will check it out. I know the front 17" will not fit but the rear is no proplem I think venom 500 has the same size rear discs as me and i think he has 17" wheels so I will only run the rears might not look to nice but its only for the drag strip.

spoke to Tom at BTR who runs a 9 second viper and he said that the stock oil system will be fine
