...doesn't compromise space for rear passengers ?

Hmm, agree but at considerable expense of boot space ? It has to go somewhere.

That aside, a ground breaking design - surely this must be the first time that a manufacturer has considered the idea of a folding roof mechanism, so as not to spoil the car's lines when the roof is retracted ?

Bloody hell ! MUST be good if Thom gives it the rubber stamp !

Hang on though Thom, it's a Volvo, yet you don't like Mercs ? Hmm, we'll take this offline, I think....

Err, is this not just the back of a Merc SLK/SL being welded onto a Volvo?

I run a C70 convertible which is fine for passengers (and for the driver!) but isn't over endowed with boot space - principally as it has a hard reserved area for the roof. I'd like to see how this alternative compares.

Greg,

IPAddis is absolutely right about the trick roof - it's been on the go for ages, unless you mean something else entirely??

He said with a hint of sarcasm.

Sorry, that last bit didn't make the final cut.

I'd be really interested in a C70 "Convertible" now (i.e. with this development) but...it's not on Volvocars.co.uk and the local dealer knew nothing about it. Nothing like good corporate communications...and that's nothing like good corporate communications.

Maybe it's not coming here? Anyone wish to hazard a guess at the price? Without reference to or any knowledge of the convertible's prices, I'd guess £32,500.
