Hello ! This is my first post on this message board. My name is Tony, I live in St.Pete Beach, Florida. I have a 79 Vette. A member of yours (Richard) told me about this site. I just like to see what people around the world have to say about their Vettes. Looks like some interesting reading here, I'm sure I'll enjoy it. Thanks Richard. I go to all the big shows in the U.S.A. so if anybody has any questions, shoot !

Hi Tony - welcome to the forum; I think it's fair to say that it is a very international forum here...

I'm sure the FL weather is great for your vette: miserable, rainy, dark and cold where I live in the North of England, though am travelling out to South Africa for hopefully better weather at the weekend.

Sadly, no 'vette, but oh well!

Greetings Tony, As I sit here looking out of the window (and typing) seeing the rain pour, it cheers me a little to think of you out there in sunny St Pete's enjoying your Vette the way it should be, in warm weather with the top down or the t/tops out. While you are there enjoying the good weather, spare a thoght for your friends across the pond, most of who only use their Vettes 6 months of the year because of the damned bad weather.

Tony. Welcome. I'm glad to have been of service and we all look forward to receiving your input. Incidentally I am considering a trip to Corvettes at Carisle possibly this year but probably 2005. Have you been and what is it like.

Hello all ! Sorry to hear about the rainy weather accross the pond, it's about 75 degrees here today and sunny (sorry). Last year I went to Corvettes at Carlisle and Bloomington Gold outside of Chicago. The Carlisle show was very BIG, tons of used hard to find cheap parts for sale. I'd say there had to be about 50,000 people there. The food was expensive but to see all the vendors and tuners was very cool. I would have to say I had a better time at the Bloomington show though, the weather was better. It was set on a golf couse and they had all of the auction cars of display on the fairways ! Very cool ! My Father lives on the South side of Chicago and I got to have dinner with him one night. I'd say the best part was just hanging out in the hotel parking lot ! Everybody had lawnchairs and coolers full of beer and wine. It was like a giant BBQ party out there. It did get a bit out of hand when the burnout contest started in the back lot around midnight. I think a guy in a ZO6 took 1st prize. All and all both were great, I just like Chicago a bit better than Carlisle.

Tony, the choice seems to be between Florida and Portsmouth. The winner is.............not Portsmouth.

What do you think of skydiving ? I have a mate that likes skydiving but he would never do a bungee jump because he hates the ground rush. I love the ground rush you get with a bungee jump

It's wet and cold here in Wales too (for US purposes, Wales is a country joined to England on the west side) and I have a '98 Camaro Z28.

I'm off to Kerala in India on the weekend to find some tropical paradise.
