I haven't seen any news of the C6 in Detroit on the front pages of PH. I wonder why?

Here are some shots:

Looks like cross drilled rotors are standard on this year's model. I have not see one in the flesh yet but I hope I will soon.

Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous

Any idea when these are on sale in the States? It's just that we're hoping to go on holiday to California around May and would love to see one up close and personal.

Will be hiring a rag-top Mustang again (we went last March too).....but I bet we won't be lucky enough to get the new version of that either

Also......this is probably wishful thinking, but doesn't it look like the gearshifter could be moved very easily to the right for RHD?

Or is it just a cup-holder designed to look like the gearshift surround

Those Mustang pics are killer ! ! ! Looks just like a 67 Shelby GT 350/500. My Father is a Ford man. He has the 67 Shelby GT 350 and a 2003 T-Bird. But that mustang just might wide up in his collection.

I think I'm going to buy a Mustang too but only after seeing a road test and preferably the IRS Cobra model. It's so "what you want a Mustang to look like" but I still can't rave about the C6. I love all Vettes but this one just doesn't work for me and it's mainly down to the front valance and spoiler - it's just so unoriginal and uninspired. I don't think it will stand the test of time.

Didn't I see a report that Bob Lutz didn't like it either and had already planned an 2006 revamp?

I still don't like it much either. Maybe they will look better in the flesh. The cup holder looks like its out of my Vectra.

Hate to admit it but even F*rd can and are pushing the envelope in design these days. That Mustang is everything the C5 Mk 2 isn't. Sorry to say: Well done F*rd, shame on you GM.

I know it's all been said before but yesterday I saw the red C6 shown above on a foreign channel covering the Detroit show and I would never have known it was a vette if it wasn't for the massive "CORVETTE" banner behind the car!

I got the impression there was a bit of disappointment in the air when the C5 was unveiled but if anything it seems to me like the C6 hasn't exactly blown everyone's socks off!!!

At least the C5 always looks more of a piece in the flesh as photots never seem to do it justice. It will be interesting to see what those who have just gone to the show think of the C6 up close.

No doubt it's a better car, blah, blah, but a Porsche 996 and numerous jap cars are better cars than a vette but the vette has to do it visually for me. That's why I couldn't care less how good or fast WRXs, EVOs, etc are, they look like regular jap family cars in drag!! (like Skylines though) Sorry about the narrow mindedness.

Totally agree with LuS1fer about the C6 front end. That's what really kills it for me.

Underwhelmed again.......

The Sunday Times had a small article & picure of it yesterday & I must admit that it didn't grab me by the goolies & shake. I think it looks to short, like the rear end has been chopped off.

Check out the price though, it's a lot of car for your money (which was the original philosophy of a Corvette).
