Guys,

Anyone know of any good independent BMW mechanics around the Cambridge area? Need a bit of work done to my M3 Evo and also don't want to pay through the nose for it.

Any help much appreciated.

Not quite Cambridge, but not too far: http://darjac-racing.co.uk/

He is highly recommended on the M5 board: http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/e34-m5-discussion...

Well not trying to piss on your chips, but I popped in to Bartletts last week with the intention of booking my FO7 in for a service and some repairs but first I asked them a simple question, "where's the ciggie lighter fuse please?" The two techs were in the office and their advice was to book the car in for two hours.

Then went to Elms BMW in Cambourne and asked about the fuse location. Service manager sent a tech out to the car, he found the offending fuse and changed it for me. No charge.

Guess where I'll go for my servicing though their hourly rate hurts a bit

Not sure if you are still looking but I always used SRN in Cambridge http://srnmotorservices.com/ the owner Steve is an ex-scottal BMW master tecnician and always did a superb job with my E39 M5. Steve always told me of any issues whatsoever, however minor and would offer very useful advice. Always found the prices very reasonable too.

late reply to this, but try C&W Automotive in Snailwell, near Newmarket, five mins from A11. Also ex-Scotthall BMW Master Technician there, very experienced in M Power, has worked on several of my cars for me and previously my M3 V8 - http://www.cwautomotive.co.uk/
