Hi all, excuse my ignorance as this is the first time I have posted anything or asked advice from any forum, but I have been driven to it by BMW.

I have recently brought a 2003 BMW 530d SE, it has the Business sat nav installed which I have found not to be the best, so I mailed BMW about upgrading the sat nav to professional. I received a mail back from Stratstone quoting £4117.71 including VAT and fitting, my jaw dropped to the floor whilst reading the mail, I only asked for an upgrade price, I didn't want the car rebuilt, you could buy 10 top of the range tom toms for that. Does this price seem a bit steep to anyone else, and do I have any other options around upgrading my sat nav,

Would really appreciate any help/advice you can give,

Cheers

Dan

I think even if you were to source the items second hand from the likes of fleabay, it would still cost you in the region of £1.5k not including the hassle of fitting it either.

There may be ways to instal an aftermarket in dash sat nav into the car. If possible, you would get a better result than the BMW Prof system for less money.
