Very impressive.

Edit
Had a couple of listens to it now. I've upgraded it to 'deeply impressive'. I can imagine dancing my arse off to this on the terrace of Space. Favourite part is the Madonna accapella over Gat Decor - Passion.

Good work boys.

Is this now the future of House? Layers of tracks and accapellas? The only reason I ask is that I have been generally rather unimpressed with the House offerings this year - David Guetta and Akon??? Ugh.

Out of curiosity, how are these 'free' downloads licensed?

Some of us DJ's are licensed. Public liability insurance also... The rest - we pay for the downloads, websites, and equipment.

I would argue that the artists that release these tracks have done so in the full knowledge how these tracks will be used. QED.

P,
For goodness sake! First off Public Liability Insurance is a complete nonsense as far as DJ mixes are concerned, it only covers injury to someone in an accident for example by the equipment etc (ie tripping over a cable). And yes I have that, 10 million pounds worth if you must know.

This is a promotional mix, and is not for sale, if we were selling it the chances are the copyright people would be interested. But essentially we are not stealing revenue from them or anyone by doing this. All the records on this mix are not there in their entirety and our mixed, tweaked, re-arranged and layered with other records etc, the big problem is making available whole tunes that you don't own the copyright for, but essentially the single tracks on this mix are worthless to someone who wants a copy of "x" tune. In the dance music industry it has long been accepted that the one of the few ways to get ahead and succeed is to do this type of thing, so essentially a blind eye is turned. For years record shops would sell promo records even though they said "not for resale" on them, god knows I have hundreds of them. The producers look upon DJ's as a means to getting their music heard by a wider audience, as such we are very open and transparent about our tracklisting.

But I would please ask, that maybe in future rather than colour our thread with this seperate if not similar subject, that it was posted in a seperate thread. After all, we are really only hoping to entertain other likeminded people.

That is superb. Up there with the Friendly Fires EM earlier this year, really well done. I'll be poppoing that into my Blackberry and will be pissing off fellow passengers on flights around europe with it for the next few weeks no doubt.

What did you use to put it together?

I'd love to have a go with a bit of that kit, sadly the occasional flourish of (ageing) vinyl on Technics is all the fix I can get.
