My Tasmin has only got one tank (sing along if you like)for some reason my mk1 has no near side tank, there is no repair job on the one thats left to indicate that the other was removed, so I must accept the car was made that way.
Does any one know of a scrap car or set of tanks I can get, just fed up with filling up every 100 miles or so.

Most of my Wedges have the balance pipe going between the tanks across the top of the chassis at the top of the tank level but on the SEAC it's a convoluted arrangement of square tube and a cross link lower down which makes filling slower and harder than any of my previous Wedges - as Wedgie sais it's a tradition to get spit back and 98ULG all down your leg - mingles well with the leather smell when back in the car.

Unfortunately either the connecting pipe or my second tank leaks - you can fill the tank up until the fuel guage shows half full, then petrol starts pouring out of the bottom of the car (as Tescos so kindly informed me when I parked up on the first day I bought the car!) So if there's anyone else with a couple of tanks for sale, or even just the passenger side one, please let me know too!

Interesting - so these things are supposed to have 2 tanks anyway? How do you get the other tank to fill from the first - I only seem to get about 32 litres or so in every time I fill up.
Common problem is for the balance pipe to get blocked. Some cars were fitted with quite small ones while others were fitted with large ones as they say. There can also be issues with breathers being blocked and this causing problems.
Anyone who intends playing with their wedge on a track, it is worth fitting a one way valve on the breather so that air can get in and fuel not escape. Quite common for these cars to pee a bit when cornering and cause problems for others on the track.
