wont tick over

my 350i wouldn't start wasn't the fuel pump as i changed it, i even topped up the fuel (just in case)changed the diod pack (red relay) no joy ! swaped the ignition relay and the starter relay, car started but wouldn't tick over, runs the dies. Swaped back the relay, car started and died again (battery light stays on when it has started when reved the light dims) What the f--- is happening to my car ????????

The diode pack as referred to in your previous threads is not the red relay you seem to referring to here! IMHO your alternator is knackered and your fan belt is loose and by now probably your battery too.

I think that dickymint may well be right. I rebuilt my alternator; get it checked out before buying a new one.

thanks i've calmed down since yesterday and the cuts and scratches i always get from anywork on this car dont hurt so much now. whats the red thing called? the diod pack is on the alternator then ? someone said that might be the problem.
