Finally got round to fitting my half-hood over the weekend and couldn't resist going for a quick run.

At a, er, private test facility it remained securely fixed at somewhat over the ton and there was little in the way of flapping or noise from the canopy itself. There was some turbulence spilling in from the back, which I suspect would carry the odd raindrop with it in the wet, but on the whole it was quite cosy. The one thing I did notice was the noise. Every little rattle, squeak and resonance seems to be amplified dramatically and the upper reaches of the rev range feel even more manic than usual. Once you go over 5,000rpm or so it's like pushing the plunger on a detonator. biggrin

I should get my halfhood plus any time now. The only problem is my car spit out all its cooling fluid after a trackday, so I don't have a car for it, until they find out what went wrong. biggrin

I've not bothered myself, but those who have recommend the draught excluder.

If its very wet on the road, the spray does come through the back and the cockpit gets damp but it is certainly better than no hood if you have a screen fitted but keep a chamois handy to wipe the insde of the screen
