Can anyone give me advice.

Chimaera 1997 4.0

I seem to be getting water in the bottom of the drivers foot well as the carpets seem to be a little damp. Has anyone else experienced this and where should I be looking to find the cause.

Or should I just take it to my dealer and let them sort it out?

Loads of options. Most common is a leak through one of the grommets or seals on the inner wing above the pedals. Brake master cylinder edge seal, clutch fluid inspection chamber seal, vacuum hose hole etc. etc.

Some people here have reported a leak from the bottom front corner of the door seal, kind of under the door seal where the fibreglass overlaps. I think mine has this too ... found a smidge of dampness after this morning's downpour. Anyone know if this this a new door seal needed?

Also, there should be 2 'indents' in the door seal (looks like it's being punctured). This allows any water running down the inside of the door around the trim area to run outside.

I'm sure someone can explain some of these points more clearly than me ...

I had similar too, check the seals on top of the inner wing as Trfor suggests - actually re-seal them anyway mine didn't look damaged at all so I'd dismissed it but in desperation re-sealed them and hey presto! Dry interior.
Trefor also mentions the seals and while I understand what he is saying, I can't put it any better either!

Had same problem- water ingress due to broken seal around area where foot pedals come through bulk head.

Common problem. In addition to Trefor's comments it could also be the hood as (I have been advised) this should be treated annually with Fabsil or equivalent to reproof it. Just had my Chimaera serviced by David Batty (The Garage near Guildford) - can't recommend him highly enough etc etc - who Fabsil'd mine for about 50 quid including materials. David is worth calling to discuss remedies.
