Had an accident...?

Americans squeeze more money out of car insurers. Expect similar claims in the UK soon...

Bad if you are to blame, good if you aren't. Given two identical cars, one which had been repaired and one which hadn't, which one would you buy?

Having said that, we will all be paying for it via the insurance anyway.

I remember when I was at University I had an Endsleigh (SP) insurance policy. Got burgled (bugger) and little known to me the policy was "new for old" - now if we could have that on cars, we would all be laughing....

Nice.... shame it wouldnt work though.

Cheers,

Paul

Mind you - for those of us with TVRs, would we want a new one? You'd only have to start again sorting the little.......er, idiosyncracies.......out

What the fnark?? - "Americans; squeezing money out of insurance companies..."? I don't know what you're on, bub, but I'd like to know where to get some... As a nation, we've been screwed harder by our insurance companies than any other 'civilised' nation on earth - consider the state of our 'universal national health care system'; or how about what passes for unemployment coverage, or insurance on our retirement funds - oh yeah, it's all covered... Cheezis K. Reist! Americans pay more for less than any European; you've been watching too much TV; the ads are lies - had you forgotten?

Surely you're paying more for less just because you all claim far more than we do. The insurance companies have to get it from somewhere!

Bloody hell, I don't believe it, I have to agree with a Yank (BUT ONLY PARTLY!!!).
I know of other yanks suffering from the same condition as me (psoriatic arthritis) which basically *ucks you up big time, who are having to carry on working because their medical insurance just doesn't cover them.
I fancied going to Mallory Park yesterday but was too knackered for that!

France, Germany. Switzerland and Austria have all (for the last 10 years at least) had the possibility of claiming for loss of value due to an accident. Mind you the majority of people are too dumb to remember it........
