Garmin Mapsource- how to use on satnav unit

Ive just brought a Garmin Nuvi 255W and was fiddling about with mapsource- I have uploaded the route I created to my satnav unit, but how do I find it on there?

wow this is bizarre , I have just logged on to ask exactly the same question re a Nuvi 310D.
