Advice needed on this SLK55 please

Is the absence of COMMAND a big NO NO, or do you just adjust price accordingly ?. I missed out on 21K mile version, 6 months older from main dealer, but with COMAMAND & air scarf for similar money.

UPDATE: Dealer is stating COMMAND can be retrofitted for £1K. I wonder what their markup is on that, as it could be key difference between doing the deal or not.

Another query I have is the dealer stated it doesn't have Xenon's , yet the Parkers guide is showing this was standard on the car ? Anyone confirm one way or the other :- http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/equipment/Detail.asp...

Retrofitting command can be done and for £1k just about using good used and readily available components so no big deal provided its knocked off the price. In reality its not a great system I have it on mine. The one extra that is limiting at resale time is lack of airscarf and it cant really be retrofitted

Xenons std on all uk spec slk 55,s so if it doesnt have then walk away.

I've just done a spec check on this car for you and the reason it doesn't have xenon's is because it's an import. It is saying it should have Audio 50 though, which is a basic turn by turn Sat-Nav system. I wouldn't let the fact it's an import put you off too much though, the car will come with a Mercedes Used Car warranty, so there shouldn't be any problems a bit further down the line.

For £1k I would doubt the delaer has any margin at all in fitting the Comand, for what is a £2k option when ordering from the factory, I would say they are being very reasonable with their pricing.

If your still looking for a SLK55 AMG let me know, i was going to put mine up for sale early next year. Couple of years newer than the one your looking at, fully loaded and currently only 14K on the clock.

I think there are plenty non grey import cars around with Comand and Xenons. I like the Comand as I can use a DVD+r and have almost 5gb's of music on one disc that you can view and play from the folders with names. Airscarf is a big preference on these cars. You can also get the iPhone cradle and media interface for the Comand system.
