Hi Everyone,

Just thinking of a new SatNav.... have changed from PC to Mac so must be Mac compatible and with Speed Camera data base, preferably a wide screen. No need for European or international mapping.

Can the PH massive SatNav massive help?smile

Grateful for any help or advice

Thanks

I've used TomToms with my Mac since they came out. Started with a 300, then a 700, and now a 730.

You can either use the TomTom application to purchase TomTom's subscription, or manually mount & copy the PocketGPSWorld ones over.

Thanks.... can you just explain this a bit more. Does the TomTom come with its own software to download updates? I'm not sure I know what Pocket GPS is?

Thanks again

TomTom has an application called TomTomHome, which is available for both Mac & Windows. It lets you install map & software updates, POIs, colour schemes and cursor images.

It is also a platform for enabling you to buy TomTom upgrades for the latest maps, live services (HD traffic, speed camera warnings, etc.).

http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/ do their own - and much more accurate & up-to-date - speed camera warning database for an annual subscription of £18 or so.

To install the TomTom speed camera database you simply buy it via the TomTomHome application and then it will install from the same application. The PocketGPSWorld database is downloaded (every week if you want to stay up-to-date) from their website and then unzipped and manually copied to your map folder on the TomTom once you've connected it to your computer.
