Didn't realise a new series 8 on E4 tonight!
Neither did I until about 20 minutes ago! Glad I spotted it

I'll hold my hands up to this one - this week's in the US was pretty poor. The opening sequence was the best of it and even that was more of a mild smirk than actually funny....
Totally agree, I think it was possibly the worst episode of the whole show.

I think the stars have done well to get massive payouts and a guarantee of another season after this one as I sense a ratings decline coming soon...

I remember the times TBBT had me in utter hysterics but I think I keep watching now out of habit and a glimmer of hope.

Very much this. I hate to be negative but I can take it or leave it at the moment. Same old situations that don't work anymore. I sure they'll put the decline in viewers down to that new haircut ;-)

Well I thought it "okay".

Some sniggering occurred so not all bad.

It wasn't too bad, not a patch on the early years, but they can't stay 26 and niaive [sp] forver. I did like the whole Stew/Deb-Deb thing, that could become very funny over the series.

I enjoyed it. I didn't understand why E4 didn't show the last episode of the previous series immediately before it, rather than the parking-space one, though there was a quick re-cap at the start of the new one.

Because they are a bit amateurish. Could have bumped up advertising rates for that combo.

Agreed with above comments. Always thought Bernadette hotter than Penny, even with the annoying squeaky voice. The new hair looks wrong not sure why. Short hair is good or can be, that cut just misses the mark so I'm with Sheldon on that.

Most of the episode was generally meh. Living on past glories, how in hell they are going to make it last another n seasons.

Channel 4 are bumbling fkwits and don't give the show what it requires.

I watch the show now because it's decent, but it's a legacy 'viewing' mostly to it's past glory, also in the hope we'll see glimpses of said past glory.

Childbirth.

Only one good line in last night's new one.

(In the car, Amy in the back with fingers in ears.)

SHELDON: As soon as we get home I'm going to have coitus with Amy.
(Audience astonishment - no reaction from Amy.)
SHELDON: Ok, she can't hear us.

Apart from which, a really average epidose. Hate Penny's new hair too.

Just watches the series 8 opener.

There's not much artistic integrity in that cast is there.

It was fine, first in a series, if you want all to knock your feet off they will disappoint, it'll be a decent series, funny in all but the odd one will be excellent.

No it wasn't.

You say 1st in series like they haven't had much experience of this and need the practice.

It was unfunny which, considering it is a comedy makes it a fail.

You really do get the impression that all involved are going through the motions for the money now.
Apart from Parsons, the spark has gone out of the delivery.

They desperately need funny writers and get their passion back.

I really hope they prove me wrong.

It's personal taste, you saying 'No it wasn't' is just your view of one persons moment. I though it wasn't stunning, but it had its funny moments while needing to get everyone together again.

Of course if you don't like it then don't watch it next time up.

I didn't like the way Jeremy did something silly and then Richard said something stupid and James May could shine on his own.
