W124 E Class coupe original alloys

Hi all
I have just got myself a W124 coupe and very pleased with i am too!
The thing is i am trying to get hold of some of the original alloys for it. I am not sure of the name but i think they are either 8 or 10 hole (small ones around the edge)and they were fitted on the coupe, estate and saloon.
When trawling the classic mags and Merc Enthusiast a lot of the ads with mint examples have the wheels on with a chrome finish too which would be preferable.
Anyone who can point in the right direction it would be much appreciated as i have tried to search and short of tired ones on Ebay which i would need to refurb or going to a main dealer i am out of ideas.

Because people now see the folly of putting large non standard wheels on these beautiful cars , the supply of good second hand original 8 hole alloys has dried up a bit .
You`re best bet is to buy a set and invest in a full refurbishment . Having said that , talk to your main dealer first as they`re not completely inflexible on price for older parts and may just have access to some new ones .

There were two types, each in two sizes and one in two finishes (so six possibilities in all).
The first type is the 15 hole wheel (albeit there are two subtle variations on this style, early wheels having more rounded holes than later types). This wheel was available in 15" x 6.5J as standard and 15" x 7.0J in optional "Sportline" fitment. The standard wheel wears 195/65 VR 15 tyres, the wider wheel comes with 205/60 VR 15s. Be very careful that you get the right offset: the w201, w124 and w126, all of which were fitted with at least one of these wheel variants, actually had different offsets.
The second type is the 8 hole wheel. Again, this was available in 15" x 6.5J as standard and 15" x 7.0J in optional "Sportline" fitment. This wheel was available in two different finishes, painted or "diamond cut"/polished. Chrome finishes were available in America.
These are all still available from the dealer for about £150 per wheel.
The 8 hole wheel is much easier to clean the 15 holer.
