I stuck my Cerb on a rolling road today - 411 bhp. I was pretty pleased. Thats without any mapping, standard induction etc.... Might think about a remap and induction sometime in the new year, but with 411bhp I am not sure the benefits will be that significant. anyway - just wondering whether there is a list of 4.5 bhps anywhere ? Would be good to try and compare against other cars eg standard, re-mapped, re-mapped plus other mods etc.....

Mine was last on the rollers in may, I think it is putting out about 425, short induction, remap and sports pipes....

I've got print outs from earlier in its life where it is putting out a lot less than that!

Mine made 400 with short induction sports but no the best exaust Jools reckons another 15 is very easy to get done but to be honest it scares the s---t out of me now so why put any more strain on the beast??

When you see the first run against the final you can see why it is so smooth better fuel and great tourque

Here is mine but as you can see it was done properly in 4th gear (straight through gearbox).

A significant improvement over the standard!

Could we / should we split out standard and modified cars - the standard list seems to be cars that have had maps and induction, I would prefer to compare my car to standard cars until / if it is mapped.

I'll have to scan my latest graph, your torque curves seem strange, or I'm not reading them right.

The biggest improvement I have from Joo's work is the rise in torque. OK BHP went up from 343 to 362ish but the torque curve improvement means the car is fantastic now.

At 2K revs I now have 280 ft/lbs torque, rather than 200, at 3K it's 320, rather than 280 and I now peak at 324 rather than 315.

Daft question; Are these figures at the wheels or the flywheel?

Was yours done in 3rd gear?

Speed 6 - before STR6-8 rebuild; at the Engine; 308.1 BHP@5,947rpm , max torque; 297.3 lbf.ft@5277rpm. It hasnt been tested post rebuild, I would like to get it dyno'd; does anyone know anywhere around Sheffield that has a Dyno?. cheers!
Yes Raceproved. They have one, I used it Friday. They are building a special dyno facility currently. Give them a ring, I am sure you can probably pop in soon !!!

Gazzab that is a really good figure for a car on standard induction and mapping. Get it mapped with short induction and it will be up there near the top

Interesting thread, but all a bit vague unless you test everything on the same day / dyno / operator etc.

Perhaps a day out next spring?

I agree, there's been so many pi55ing contests over claimed BHP figures.

Rollers can be 'tweaked' to improve the figures, especially if the people running the rollers are the people passing you the bill!

More than anything this thread shows that we are now woefully lacking people who can map AJP/MBE cars.

I will not be taking my car to Austec and with Jools out of commission where are we to turn? frown

Going back to the post I quoted in this reply, the only way to truly show comparable figures is to test the cars on the same day on the same rollers under the same conditions.

TVR Power know how to map them, but he uses at the wheels power, and its a Dyno Jet. I use that one as its 12miles up the road for me, also i have real problems with getting grip on some rollers, but that one is fine.

This was at Emerald...
