Yes! What a day yesterday.
Yesterday was fun...!
Plymouth to Cardiff in the A4. Dealers in Cardiff ended up knocking the A4 back on a load of issues so their price was terrible.
Back on the blower to another buyer who ended up OKing about £800 more for the A4.
So drove back from Cardiff to Exeter.
Train from Exeter to Derby.
Taxi from Derby to car dealership.
Drove back to Plymouth. Got back in at about 9.30pm. Slept well though!
Absolutely fell in love with the car as soon as I saw it. It's magnificent. The white against the wheels / sunroof / seats just look amazing. Feels a world away from the A4.
And the power is fantastic! I had a 3.2 TT (250ps) before and the S4 blows it out of the water. And the sports diff!!! Took a few roundabouts "enthusiastically" and it really is like it's on rails, incredible!
I might have overpaid for it slightly but I'm one happy customer! More pics to follow.
PS. What's the easiest way of getting my music to play in her? I've got a Samsung Galaxy S4.

(also a BIG fan of the sports diff)

Congrats on the new purchase
Ref music, with the B&O it's worth having the music files in a high quality lossless format as the default mp3 192 sounds a bit weedy. Even 320 is a major improvement.
Ref pairing the phone - make sure you delete all old bluetooth profiles from the car and your phone, if you've already used them together. Try pairing from your phone first and see if it offers you two profiles - handsfree is precisely that only. The other 'should' support streaming on a non-Apple phone. I tend to do as others suggest and have a mix of stuff on SD cards, the jukebox (you can only upload to it via SD card or AMI unless you unlock the DVD drive via VCDS) and an old ipod that's left in the car all the time.
I cheated and just bought a cheap iPod nano to get the MP4 and structured playlists on iTunes.Ref music, with the B&O it's worth having the music files in a high quality lossless format as the default mp3 192 sounds a bit weedy. Even 320 is a major improvement.

I believe there are 2 sizes for the tank, mine is 60 litres and there is a 'long range tank' (yeah right). Full the trip computer tells me I've got 340 miles in the tank. That drops as you pull off the forecourt though. Probably ends up high 200s but must confess I've never done a scientific experiment.

I'm def on the 'long'The US site claims 16.1 US gallons, which is 61 litres (for the saloon). I've not managed to put more than 13.5 US gallons in it.
With that, I can get, with a light foot, about 360 miles on mixed town and highway; 26.6mpg.
Except a US gallon is smaller than an imperial one, take that into account, it's closer to 32mpg.
More realistically, about 300 miles with some more spirited driving in the mix.

Had the new (to me) S4 in for a S-tronic oil and filter change in my local Audi today. They did a "health check" on the car too. All seems OK except apparently the front pads and discs are 90% worn. I bought it with a new MOT and a 3 month warranty, but my feeling is I'm stuck with the bill on this one? (£487.04!). Am obviously going to shop around, might think about upgrading them anyway as I'm going to MRC next month!

that's the std Audi service responce IMHOhad this 3 times so far, and all three times have been bogus (it's easy to see the pads!)
if they were 90% gone, the warning light would have been on for quite some time - the 'sensor wires' are in the last 20-30% of the pads and as the disks wear, the lip will usually trigger them earlier than that.
never changed a disk yet, and only done one set of front pads (at @40K) and they were far from done then.
'health check' at my local dealer suggested my spare was at the correct pressure, when I'd taken it out of the car the previous day and left it at home as needed to access stuff under it! They also failed to spot the great big screw in the FNS tyre which I knew was there, but the tread depth is fine and the pressure (apparently) hadn't dropped the usual 2psi since I topped it up several days earlier.....
That and over-billing me by 55% for a brake fluid change and air-con service, with no apology after chasing them for a week to rectify it, has left me thinking that's the last time I'll be gracing that dealership with my presence except in an emergency!
