I've just been offered a virtually brand new 1983 Rolex Datejust.

Boxed, with papers for £1300.

It's not a model i like but is it worth buying as an investment?

Not really. I've got a minter from 88 and was quoted £700 as a part ex towards a much more expensive watch. Needless to say I kept it (wearing it now actually as all of my nicer watches have an issue of one kind or another!)
