What (special) watch

Need to buy my father a fairly special watch.

Here are the rules:

1)budget of 20,000 pounds (converting from hong kong dollars or indian rupees)
2)Must be simple, elegant, classy.so no ROO's. Altho a RO might be nice
3)Preferably Patek, but im open to others.
4)buying in hong kong or india. If that makes a difference.

Im leaning towards the patek 5146g, but since it is a huge purchase for me, I would like to be sure.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. The PH crowd is usually much better informed than i am.

You really can't go wrong with a Patek Philippe, there are other alternatives but PP are globally respected.

Yep, 5146 is a nice choice. I personally like the slate back and WG strap - can be tricky to find in that combo and looks just like the P piece but at a much reduced cost. At that budget and concentrating on the PP market, I'd say that's the best piece you could go for.
