All getting a bit close now, move out of home this week, family for Xmas then touch down in Dubai on the 2nd January.

Staying in the WTC apartments for the first month or so whilst we look for a suitable villa etc.

At least the rental prices are dropping with all the perceived problems

Good luck with it all. Have you got visa's etc sorted? Jusr bear in mind that if you need anything doing at all, it will take forever, and everyone you'll talk to is an idiot!

Think so, I got copy of my employment visa, just need to pick up the original at the airport on arrival before pasport control.

Then I need my blood test, then sort wife and daughters visa. All of my documents have been noterised so I'm hoping the process is not going to be to long winded.

I'm told that I have to get a place to rent before I can get the wife's visa?

Cool. Chances are you'll be required to go to the municipality (sp?) clinic for your blood test....you might also need a chest xray, I did. If you do, I cannot urge you strongly enough to wear a suit & tie. A colleague of mine queued for 4 hours and when I went the number of people in the queue was in the hundreds...honestly. 99% of them labourers in the blue overalls. One of the staff saw i was waiting patiently (suited up) in the queue and immediately marched me to the front of the queue. I was there for a total of 15 mins. Felt a bit bad, but hey, got to enjoy the rest of the day in the sun.

If you need any help from this end, just ask.

Cheers.
