If you like it go for it, some of them are real class watches. But there's an awful lot of choice in Singapore. Which shop is it?

Im not sure of the shop name but it's in suntec city on raffles bvd, the first watch shop on the left as you go in that sells Rolex.

The ML is a square faced, black faced, black leather strap. Retails at $5400 and they said they would do it for $4000sgd. has open backing on the case and is very smart but quit modern- like a tag Monaco with substance.

I did look in another shop (sincere?) that had some unbelievable watches and they had a lovely Ebel but not sure if Ebel does it for me. That was $7700sgd and could discount to $4800 with very little haggling.

Not sure Dominic my iPhone won't show the photos. It's square faced, screw pattern pin, 1 button either side of pin in 2 sub dials on the black face. Works out about £1600 after gst back

Yes, that does look nice.

I was offered a new Rolex Explorer 1 for £2600 when I was in town two weeks ago but went for a one year old one at a shade under £2000, both of which I thought were good prices.

Just been out to keep looking and there are a couple of make specific shops, particularly the patek shop ($850,000 anyone) and AP to name 2. However had a look at Rolex and surprised how dull many rolex look. Overpriced comes to mind but maybe I'm uneducated...

At the moment the Maurice Lacroix looks lovely for the money.

If you like it go for. You'll be wearing it.

Personally and at the risk of over-generalising they are not a brand that have much appeal as I tend to prefer simpler, more robust looking designs.

They're a good brand but suffer a bit from discounting in the primary and consequently secondary market. They're moving a bit more upmarket these days and producing their own in-house movements.

In general I agree with the oft-repeated sentiment on this thread. If you like the watch, go for it. That's the only opinion that counts smile

I have one in my humble little collection and i love it ! Was just out shopping one day and saw it there so ended up buying it. My model is the Miros Coussin with a white face and brown strap. It really doesn't feel out of place in my watch box next to the Rolex / Omega / Panerai.

In which ever price range they are in, they greatly outclass the competition in detail and build IMO.

Bought a Miros Quartz for £250 (half price) and it looks and feels awesome

Just wanted to say cheers to everyone for the responses and bought the Maurice Lacroix Prontos (?) rectangle, black face and leather strap with 3 chrono dials (second hand dial has silver surround.

Absolutely love it. Quality and design sits head and shoulders above anything else I tried on in the same price range. Box it came in is a bit cheap but hey it's just a box. Seems the build cost went on the watch!

Will post pics when back end of jan along with the Omega and Breitling I already own for comparison.

Also wanted to say thanks for Dominic H for his excellent communication and assistance in balancing where to buy. If I was to live in the uk would definitely use him smile
