Hi,

I was wondering if anyone knew of any company that does short term or daily insurance that I could use for test drives. I don't want to be only 3rd party with my usual insurance this weekend. Hopefully there is a company that knows a bit about Caterhams as the engine is slightly modified so doesn't sit nicely in a drop down list that seems to be used by most insurance companies. Any ideas?

A quick search on Google had also brought up https://www.tempcover.com/ for me but online the site hadn't come across the model I wanted cover for. I gave them a call and as soon as I mentioned that the engine had been modified they were unable to offer a quote.

For sports cars? I don't know if it's just because they've been a bit obscure (sports/kit/classic) or simply because of the grouping, but I haven't been able to get temporary cover the last couple of times I've looked into trying a car. No problems with normal ordinary production cars, but mention TVR, Caterham, Porsche or the like and the insurers seem to run off and hide in the corner.

I don't know your situation. but are you, or can you be, friendy with someone in the motor trade. Having them help you out for an hour, even at workshop rates, may be ecconomical
