I've been given a budget to treat myself to a watch and I have little or no idea as to what to get! I'm in no way a watch type person, so I'm not all that in touch with what's what.

I've seen this one, which I like Seiko Arctura I also quite like this one C70 Brooklands. Knowing nothing about watches I've never heard of Christopher Ward and have no idea if they are any 'good'.

Having read through similar threads, I've seen the Seiko Monster mentioned, which I don't really like (too chunky). Ideally I'd like a strap rather than a bracelet, I'd also not like to buy 2nd hand.

Hope this is enough to go on smile

Nothing that really floats my boat there.

This is nice, does it come with a leather strap at all?

I think it's a SBPP001?

I have no doubt it's well made, but that's a fairly unapologetic clone of an IWC Mark XI.

My next watch is going to be in that sort of price range and I'm very much taken by the Stowa Antea at the moment. Nice clean look, quality build, ETA movement, nice history etc all for EUR. 330. Only drawback is that delivery times are somewhere in Feb if you order now. Looks great on a tan leather lick

Soooo after loads of dithering, mind changing and general lethargy I settled on treating myself to a Christopher Ward C70 Brooklands.

So at the end of Jan I placed my order, one week later rang to find out where my delivery was and was told they were out of stock, even though the website said (and still says) they are in stock.

I've emailed and have asked about when they are due back in stock but have heard nothing frown

Back to the drawing board me thinks, not that convinced about the service with them so far...

If the budget could be stretched just a little bit, you could have one of these on your wrist by next week

Steinhart Ocean 1 Vintage Red. 42mm across the case, WR 300m, beautifully engineered bracelet and top notch customer service thrown in for free.

Also they do a fabulous range of pilots watches - have a look here -

That's quite nice, can't find it for sale for that price you mentioned. It's not as nice as the C70, I like the fact it was a little different in it's colouring.

I wouldn't be me if I didn't suggest the Traser Auto Pro Blue...

Link Here

£22.50 over your £300 budget on leather, but oh so nice!! Has a proper ETA auto movement too.

I think all the timefactors watches are clones really. Except that dreadnaught thing.

Thanks eddie! etc

Again it's too chunky, too black and too much like a divers watch. Sorry to sound fussy but I think the C70 is quite distinctive.
