Car has been tucked away for 12 days in the garage while the snow was about. When I went to start it yesterday it was dead as a Dodo.
Called Merc assist & the boot battery was drained. He got it started & it is OK now.The battery is good, so what drained it?
It wasnt even locked or alarmed.

Paul.

R230 SLs do this, evidently. There is quite a lot of electrical gubbins and they will drain over a couple of weeks under normal circumstances - in the cold even more so.

Mine is even worse at the moment (it's quite a new battery too) as my drive to work is about 1.5 miles in the dark, freezing cold etc - so it can go even more quickly.

Its going into Stratstones Wakefield next week so I will ask if its a rocognised problem.I have never owned a car that cant stand for 2 weeks without the battery going dead - never mind one that cost £80k !
