Yes, the standard chassis is known as the S3 one. The CSR is completely different and the SV (or Series 5) is the wider model. Just for completeness the S4 is the fibreglass monocoque that wasn't terribly popular.

Don't forget though that whilst lots of bits will be suitable and fit, the 2008 Standard chassis cars are most likely the metric version made by Steel Fabrications and not Arch as previous and there are a few items that may be specific to the manufacturer

I agree with Tango but also relavent is age and whether dedion or live axle. S3 is a common term for anything after S2 which is not SV. Wishbone/suspension, roll bars and numerous other things change either with age/type. some are interchandeable some are not and to confuse it all some are with small mods. Sorry, not very helpful.

So just out of interest what is the difference between a S2 chassis and an S3 chassis, they have always both looked dimensionally the same to me

An S2 chassis is a lotus chassis, and dimensionally the same as a S3 lotus and S3 caterham chassis. In concept they are the same but the tube lay out is very different. Since then Caterham have continued to develop the chassis keeping the same external dimensions more or less the same until the SV was launched. The changes over the years are too many to mention here even if I did know them all (which I don't). It's a complete subject in itself. I know a reasonable amount about the live axle chassis as this is what I have and I am interested in the older cars.

Cheers
