Hi All, I’m new to this section, is this a great place or what!

I’m fancying a new Seiko Divers watch, not fussed on the Monster series but I like the look of these two as a daily knock about, does anyone have any experience of the following skx011j1 and the skx007k1 they both look fine to me but is one better than the other? All opinion/advice welcome, Thanks

These are both great watches, I have the skx007, it is a fantastic watch for the money, really good value. It is quite accurate and has a nice heavy feel to it.

Yhe orange faced one is made in japan so it could be said it is slightly higher quality, however I would find it hard to tell the difference between the two.I like the Orange one too because it is different, and I am tempted to get one myself in the future.

But I have to be a bit restrained, as I love watches so much I bought about 10 last year.

I have both those watches! I got an SKX011J in the middle of last year and picked up an SKX007J a couple of weeks ago. By all accounts the only real difference between the 'J' and 'K' is the extra text on the dial ('21 Jewels' below 'Diver's 200m' and 'Made in Japan' between the 6 and 7 hour markers). I've read the 'J' models are made in Japan whereas the 'K' models aren't, but I've also read they are all actually made in the same factory, so don't worry about the differences in quality between the 'J' and 'K' watches, just go for the one you think looks best.

My 011 is lovely. It feels rock solid and keeps very good time. By figuring out the best way to leave it overnight I can get it to keep perfect time (+0 seconds over a 3 month period!).

My new 007 is also great but when compared to the 011 it doesn't have quite the same quality feel, but if I wasn't comparing it to my almost freakishly good 011 I'd be very happy with it for the money. There's always some quality variation which is to be expected.

I currently have the 011 on an oyster bracelet but I'll probably get a velcro strap for the 011 and put the oyster on the 007.

Let us know what you decide!

Thanks Debaser that’s exactly the type of comparison I was looking for, I’m going to go for the SKX011J1 I really like the orange face, great feedback, I’ll post a couple of pics if anyone’s interested.
