My daily driver has really bad condensation when it's damp. I know of one leak which is probably causing it but someone mentioned to me a while ago that cat litter in a container can help stop the condensation. Large bag of cat litter £4, plastic box £1.75.
So in true 'Blue Peter' style here we go:

1 Condensation -

2 Buy large bag of cat litter and tuppaware box -

3 Drill lots of holes in a pretty pattern -

4 Half fill with magic powder -

5 Replace lid and put in passenger footwell -

6 Wait 24 hours and 'Hey Press Toe' condensation has gone biggrin -

Awesome, must get that sorted in my car, I was back home from uni over christmas and I was having to scrape ice from the inside rather than the outside hehe Had stalactites coming down from my sunroof tongue out Ok until the car got warm enough and they melted all over my head frown

Fantastic solution!

biggrin

I'd get that onto ebay, sell them as Condensation solutions and supply the kitty stuff in a plain plastic bag!
How often do you reckon on having to replace the magic powder though!

You could have saved £1.75 if you are near a takeaway that does rice in plastic boxes.

I put the container in my van on Friday and I've just noticed condensation on the windows again so, in this damp weather it looks like every 3 - 4 days.

put it in a sock when the cat litter gets used you simply dry it out on the radiator and reuse

To keep moisture out of an 5x4 transparancy imaging camera we used to fill it with absorbant crystals (I forget the name of them), to dry them out we simply microwaved them!

I bet you could do the same with this too????

Silica Gel. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silica_gel

My girlfriend has a huge sack of it on the dash of her convertible and it works a treat. Kitty litter is probably cheaper though.

Or you could have just replaced the pollen filter and the misty windows would have cleared themselves...

I don't think it's that simple. Most cars with condensation problems have a leak on something like a window seal or sunroof etc. It only needs a few drops of moisture in the carpet and the glass will steam up for days.
