Guys - I was thinks of a big meeting in the summer ...
real good top down weather .. I don't fancy driving 200 miles in crap weather. How about July (Le Mans finished..).

I was thinking of something like : We book serveral rooms in a reasonably priced hotel or take over a few guest houses in a nice town in the Midlands somewhere.

How about this format ..

Sat 12:00 ~ 13:00ish - people arrive from all over country.
13:00 ~ 15:00 - talk cars etc ..
15:00 ~ 17:00 - Country drive out (Local wedgie to arrange route)
17:00 on - discover local bar & restaurant

Sun, Breakfast followed by :
Local Event - Gaydon , heritage etc.. they are normally interested in groups.

How about that ..

Having screwed up attendance at the Feb 8th meet 'cos of Mother in Law's birthday, w/e of July 3/4 sounds fine with me. I don't have any relatives with birthdays, and I don't celebrate Indepedence Day. Put me down for it. Gaydon sounds fine to me. Another alternative is the Midlands Motor Museum, west of Brum - small but some nice motors!

Father Ted .. that date clashes with piston Fest .. are you free another weekend ..

It would be a shame to have it the same weekend as another big event !

I'm up for a meet too, although I did want to go to Pistonfest this year. Any other dates?

I am afraid not at this moment......but don't go by my minority 'date shout'(mine was just an initial shot in the dark with my free w/end in July) other than that i can do last w/end july 26/27....Rev ..let the masses give their preferred dates and we'll see, as said elsewhere it's best to pick a date and stick to it .
If i can't make it ,it's just tough luck

We need a date to book annual leave for it. My weekends are normal working hours.

OK

Cards on table on replies - what weekends can't you make.

If you can take leave, swap shifts etc .. great.

Personnally - I can make any weekend in July.

Let's avoid the PistonFest (3rd & 4th July) - do they have free Guinness !

Are you happy with the kind of format - I don't want to exclude anyone because it's too expensive.

Don't want to book £100 / night hotel !

If we aim for B&B for £50~£60 for a Saturday night .. if others want to drive and not stay (OK) but they will miss out on () but that's OK.

Okay ...if it's 18/19th July ,i may be able to make it if i can shift family holiday around to week prior....
other than that no weekends in July (aeroplanes are demanding little things night and day )

50-60 for a B&B

Don't forget it's the marrying season so if digs are required then action needed soon ish. Travel inn's do a good room rate and are usually next to a beef eater etc. Travel lodges are a tad sparce, though some are near good eateries.

Put it in your diary.
