I wonder if they had any bits left over?

But seriously; that's an awsome rebuild. It must feel like a new car. Thats one write off you wouldn't mind having.

If it can be built - and then unbuilt (with the aid of a crash) it can be built again.

The worskmanship has to be spot on though. It looks like a sweet job. Good on owner/mechanics for keeping a legend among us.

I've just read the text on that website.

It was the owner himself, who did the rebuilt, which took over one year.

The story began, when he drove on the Autobahn, and saw an F40 in his rear mirror, and changed lane to let him pass.
Within range of sight, an Alfa changed lane and hit the rear off side wheel - the F40 skidded and crashed.
Our man stopped and gave first aid for the light injuries of the F40 owner, and left a card because he was a witness of this accident.

One week later, the witness called the owner, and asked what he is going to do with the wreck, and the owner promised he could have it, when all accident stuff was closed.
After three months, the old owner called and said the car was ready to be picked up.
From what I understand, he got the F40 for free, and I think with all his efforts to rebuild it, he is a worthy new owner.

[cynicalmode] What a great plan!

Follow nice cars around and wait for some numptie to wipe them out.
When one does, ask the driver if he still wants his wreck of a car!

Kinda like ambulance chasing except with Ferraris.

Absolutely fantastic effort put in to achieve that I would hate to think how much that cost.

Stupid question time. how come it shows zero mile/km ? surley they didnt need to replace the speedometer? would that have been damaged in the crash?

It's basically a new engine, hell its pretty much a new car.

Thus 0km!
