Most odd. An old fella. Quite serious looking. Middle class. With this stuck to his bootlid

I know a guy who asked if I thought he should put an M3 badge on his 118d. I did try to explain... rolleyes

These are the ones that confuse me - that's not even an M Sport. It doesn't even have factory M stick on tat or M branded wheels. At least with the others you can see the thought process even if you don't agree with it - they want an M Sport badge. But on an SE?!

I saw Mini Countryman today with an M3 sign, now I wonder if that chap really knows what the M3 is or just likes the combination of that letter and number.

Spotted this one in Oxfordshire. I'm sat behind in a debadged M135i, looking forward to the dual carriageway in about a miles time.

I hope you have a note you can show the other driver as you gently pull along side (at whatever speed)...

"THIS is an ///M"

and then you drop a cog (or two) and disappear over the horizon smile

There was a guy who lived out near Loanhead, Edinburgh who had a M5 Touring badged up as a 520d!! Brilliant. He also had a Ferrari 599 GTB so must of had good taste.

Yes, the HUD is brilliant - speed, cruise settings and nav directions are all projected. Or, when you're going for it, just the tachometer, shift lights and gear indicator.

Dom.
Once you fanny about and turn M display back on!

Stupid BMW!
Set it up so that when you press M1 or M2 it comes on, and when you press them again it goes back into economy and normal mode.

It's not an ///M though. It's an ///M performance model.

Overheard a funny conversation yesterday between neighbours when out walking my dog:
Old boy - "My daughter's just bought one of those with a 1.8 diesel. What engine has yours got?"
Lady - "it"s a 118d, so a 1.8 diesel too. But it's an M-Sport so it's faster than a normal 1.8."

Fortunately my back was to them when she made her comment, or my facial expression would have revealed my mirth/derision...

No doubt she thinks the Sport button makes it go faster still
