So what you're saying is that BMW put the M badges on ? Dont worry, they do that with the M135i and the M235i and they're not M cars either !! Blue touch paper lit and stands back lol
In terms of pure snobbery, which is what this thread is about, an M235i is a superior car to a ten year old M5 (randomly picking an 'iconic' M car, popular in the M Power forum). Anyone that can afford to buy an M235i has already decided that they don't want a ten year old motor. That person would look at a ten year old M5 and think, 'get a decent motor, you loser - you are just buying an M badge so you can boast about it like a ten year old'.

None on the wings on my F31 Touring. They're splattered everywhere else.

They are standard fit on all M Sport's now. Removal is a no-cost option from new.

Mine does have them on the wheels, steering wheel and sills but it is a 2012 model and I don't think they were putting them on the wings on the early 'M Sport' models, but seems if it is standard now the insurance repairer decided to add them to make it current, they probably have a standard specification they work to and because they had to blend in the paint on the front wings thought that they had been removed during prep for paint so put them on as standard. They are only small and I quite like them so I will wear them with pride smile

I'm not sure I know what you mean. I own a 6 year old V10 M6. I bought it because ever since I saw one as the MotoGP safety car I wanted one. I don't boast about it, I just drive it and enjoy every second. I have noticed that M badges are appearing on most of the new models. I don't care. My car is a dinosaur. The tech is old. The engine is outdated. It drinks fuel like an oil tanker. Probably every current M car is better than it. My choice though and I'm happy with it.

As long as you don't look down your nose at people with M badges on their non-M cars just because you yourself own an M car, then, as far as I am concerned, everything is wonderful. Ten cylinder M5s and M6s are great cars to own today, as are older M3s, but I wouldn't use ownership of any of those cars as an excuse to abuse other people, which is what has been happening on this thread. It's full of nonsense like "I then overtook his debadged-320d-pretend-M3 in my M3/M5/M6, bet he was really embarrassed when he saw my real M badge, the tt".

Got it, thanks. Each to their own I suppose.
