Does anyone shop here ? Is any of it actually edible ?
I am just doing a test delivery from the acado website and was wondering if anyone can advise me on any selections. I have ordered a fair bit of fruit and tried to pick the stuff that will have a bit of flavour and not be so synthetic tatsting. If anyone has any recommends then please pass them on.
Navigating through the meata nd fish is bit of a minefield though. Again, if anyone has any pointers or good selections then please pass them on.
Tips for good puds as well.
Thanks.

What do you mean 'is any of it actually edible'?
I've shopped there on occasion when location and budget have allowed. Excellent quality but a complete rip off in short.
is it edible ? is it any good, taste good ? (seeing as most supermarket meat, fruit, fish and veg is total junk)I've shopped there on occasion when location and budget have allowed. Excellent quality but a complete rip off in short.

The lengths people will go to on this forum to come across wealthy and above the day to day life of millions is astounding.

Been seen many a time I agree. I only know because my Mum shops there and the only reason she does is because she works for The John Lewis Partnership.thetapeworm said:

mostly agree but i do not understand why they charge more for a tin of heinz beans for example than another store
They price match Tesco on most things thought don't they? It is excellent quality and I totally see why people shop there. But it is still very expensive and much of the produce that you pay through the nose for is from similar providers, factories and countries that ASDA and Tesco use. They just sell at more reasonable yet still extortionate prices.
Maybe Waitrose pay their Marketing Managers a little more than those at Morrison's to reel in the susceptible wealthy and tickle their bellies in to believing that mass-market supermarket tat is worth more than at 'lesser' supermarkets.
Support local producers and Lidl/Aldi.

The first thing that struck me about Waitrose, when a new branch opened nearby, was that my car would actually fit into the parking spaces (designed for X5s not Micras).
Second - how frightfully nice the punters, sorry clientele were. Nothing like striking up a bit of light banter over the truffle oil.
Third: 'Blimey, how much?!'
But you do get a little green token to support one of the three 'charities of the week' on the way out, which is nice and makes you feel philanthropic and rich
Of the food - yep, seemed OK to me.
