slk 32 ATF capacity

Does anyone off hand know how much this is?

I have had a leak and after taking it back to MB on Saturday was told that it was a leaking clip running to the ATF cooler and that they needed to top up another two litres- dealer mentioned that this was out of a total capacity of 8-10 litres

My questions are then:-

Would this have had the potential to cause any damage?
As there would have been less fluid would this have had to work harder leading to degradation of the ATF?
Would it make sense to change the fluid given the above?
