According to news reports on the way in this morning, the carnage wreaked at the French council meeeting ehere 8 died, was the work of a member of the green party.

My first thought when I heard that news was that if i had to suffer the collossal incompetance, and narrow mindedness of the French bureaucratic system, I might have cracked too!

I mean, seen Stephen Byers, or even a cardboard cut-out of the man (anyone else see Watchdig last night?) is enough to make my blood boil.

Didn't know this French tragedy was a 'green' issue though.

One thing which Watchdog mentioned which I didn't know is that this pratt Byers doesn't even have a driving license!!
But to the French situation, the greens always were an extension of the radical red left wing who have always armed themselves against the "oppressive" majority. What else can one expect? But apart from the personal tragedy, who the hell cares if politicos get shot, some say they've got it coming to them..... Byers et al.....

If you think France is bad you should try ex-communist block countries such as Hungary. I recently posted an important letter, so I sent it 'registered/recorded delivery'. According to the person who should have received it it has not arrived. So I go to the Post Office and find I have to pay them more for them to tell me where the letter, that they have lost, is! Plus, it will take a couple of weeks!

hey, Kronenbourg is one of my fave beers! (the imported 75cl bottled variety, not the one brewed in the UK).

I'd take issue with the english food thing too. Try getting decent curry in France - or come to that, anywhere in continental europe...

That's a commonly held misconception I was talking about food made in, and available in, England.
