Do You Know Anybody That Has Killed Another Person?
Discussion
Excluding wars.
Do you know somebody that has killed another person?
Does it make a difference to the way you see them?
A few years ago I knew a fella that had killed somebody, downright nice bloke to talk to.
Always felt uneasy around him though (after I found out)!!
It got me thinking, 6 degrees etc, most people must know a killer of some description.

Currently attending a trial where one person I know killed another person I know. (There is no dispute he killed her, it's just a matter of whether it was murder or not.) Rather odd seeing him in the dock.Do you know somebody that has killed another person?

the cleaner at a tesco I used to work at (he was 60) was convicted of killling someone by dropping a paving slab on the guys head in his early twenties. He was about 5 foot nothing so not very intimidating, I believe it had been part of some stupid gang fight and he'd done about 20-30 years in barlinnie.
know one person who killed / ran over a pedestrian. 100% accident, drug adict that stepped out of a hedge onto a dual carriadgeway. Mate still gets flashbacks about it even now some 10 years later.
Another is ex SBS from the 60's and 70's and as he puts it "served in many countries where nothing much was supposed to be happening", he has never said (nor been asked) about this, but one would be surprised if not.

My ex's brother (and a gang of his mates) kicked someone to death hours after he was released on bail. Haven't seen him since then, and my first impressions were skewed by the brief run through all the trouble he'd been in/caused when I asked why the family had 5-6 safes dotted around the house.
Knowing a few, every situation is different, and how it made you feel towards that person would depend on the circumstances. I don't feel it's our place to judge, that's up to the jury, judge and law.
I should imagine most people know someone through someone whose cousins Aunty etc etc.

When I was at school a girl in my class's big brothers got in a fight at home and one ended up stabbing the other to death and was sent down for a long time.
She was a lovely girl, but she didn't get many dates!
The brothers were known to be a bit wild, but no-one thought they could kill.
