Mostly because Gordon Brown is busy destroying the value of our currency !!

Might be a tie-in with the Vancouver Winter Olympics ... Although an 8% increase still seems a little steep and there was a slight increase over Xmas!

A PO will be £2,376! eek

To beat the increase, dom, when would one have to order from you?. would right up to the deadline be ok?. or would it need to be a week before, if you say need to source it and that would take over the deadline?

It's got diamonds on it . .. seriously !

I'm also going for something German as well . . Don't think Dom can help though frown Stowa turned up a couple weeks ago and i love it, but I need a proper tool of a watch for the weekends.

The IWC can take a break at the service centre then . . .

Interest rates aren't the only factor in the value of a currency.

Consensus view that it makes a Government more transparent and reduces political influence on monetary policy?

Consensus view that it was one of the best economic decisions made by any Government?

Quite right, speculation is probably the single most important factor. So when you have an economy with IR controlled independently, high levels of investment, increasing levels of consumer spending, low inflation, and low unemployment you can be confident that ER levels will remain strong.

Unsurprisingly, they have!

Aqua Terra .. . .

It does both daily wear and black dress. The ladies Seamaster's are superb, so cute, but wouldn't do the evening wear. I could have bought one for the cat though, as a collar or something, they're such great little watches . . .

Just need to put funds in order before the 8th . .

I've got a pilot's watch with the IWC 3717, so I'm after a diver and one that will take the knocks of the weekends, holidays etc etc . .

I think I'm going to go for a U2 SDR as I would also like a watch with a UTC/GMT function. I like the U1, but it's the second hand I can't get on with. I know it sounds fussy, but it seems a bit lego to me hehe It probably looks better in the flesh and I've not written it off.

I always hankered after a 756UTC, but it's similar in style to the IWC that I want something completely different. I will have one though in the future as i want a 2 sub-dial watch in the collection. The addition of the bezel on the 856 I'm not sure I'm into, I think it moves away from Sinn's utiletarian look and makes it a bit too busy, although I may get Neil to bring one along to have a look at wink

Gonna have to meet up with Neil at Chronomasters to see which I do really prefer.

Unfortunatly the speedmaster I want is not obtainable before the price rise, so I may as well wait till the car has sold if i'll have to pay the extra anyway, oh well. teach me for not buying it a while ago smile

Thanks guys!

This thread just saved me £180 quid!

Just picked up my Dad's 60th present early (Black, PO 45.5mm with white numbers and steel strap) to beat the increase.

Thanks again.
