Hi guys

First post on this part of the forum (usually in the 'watches' part!)

I recently (three days ago) got a used C6 in my dream colour combo (black with cream) after waiting for years. My friends up north are big Citroen fans and ever since I saw their CX Prestige and SM I have always been fascinated by the quirky innovations Citroen have come up with, and love the way they feel like a well kept secret, away from the general public who tend to buy whatever they are told!

Here are some pics of my pride and joy!!

Some pics to start you off:

...also in some of these pics is my brother's 106 Rallye.

Cheers

bow

Having owned an xm in the past, I've been very interested in the c6 but was too scared of the depreciationg so got an...erm...a8 instead...just before the recession really kicked off.

Great to see someone on here has bought one anyway, always brings a smile when I see one on the road.

Thanks guys, it's a beautiful car and has real character. I paid 13K so some other poor soul took the depreciation hit - for 13K, with the amount of toys the thing has, I think it's excellent value.

Well, I say 'paid' - I'll be paying for it over the rest of my adult life, but who cares, it's a glimmer of genuine joy in an otherwise harsh world!!

Nice purchase. I may get one to replace my Avantime when the time comes.

Not too sure about the citroen...but the rallye is nice. Isn't your brother on the rallye register with username Thiscocks?

I know he is a member so that may well be his username (it would seem a fairly odd choice for anyone else, wouldn't it!!)

The 106 is great, as was his previous car, a Talbot Sunbeam, but I find those sorts of cars really irritating to drive for anything other than a short blast or on a track. We took it to Mallory Park recently which was brilliant.

Been trying the C6 on SPORT(!) mode (gearbox) which lets it rev to 4000 and it really goes off like a rocket with a quiet V6 'gurgle' and a lot more turbo noise... very nice.

is it true the A8 looses £500 each time the indicator flashes, hence the reason audi drivers never use them? surely the A8 is even worse than the C6 for depreciation?

One of the only new cars I'd like to own. I think they wimped out a bit on it...whats the point in trying to please everyone? They knew they'd only sell about 7 anyway!

Had a BX 16v for a few years now, can never get enough of that suspension! Lovely cars, one day I'll join ya!

Here it is compared to my brother's 106

Most of my colleagues at work have hatchbacks so it really stands out in the car park!! I really love driving an unusual car which 90% of the public don't recognise! Most people just see a 'Citroen' and are pretty ignorant about the unusual and frankly awesome history of the brand.

Lovely cars C6s, yours looks great in those pictures too.

Someday ill have to have one. I had a good drive of one last year, really very nice, loved it. The prices the owner gave of its running costs were a little steep. He had just paid over £900 for 4 michlins!

Cant argue that its not a real Citroen, not as quirky as some but very nice. We have 7 Citroens, some much more rare than a C6. One would fit in nicely in the collection smile

7 Citroens! What do you have? I would be interested to see them.

Yeah the tyres are pretty expensive. My father has a Subaru Legacy and he tried some 'Falcon' tyres and we both agree they are as good as the Michelins, and quite a bit cheaper (about £140 each)

Still, I don't care how much it costs - I have decided that if I can't afford to own a C6 then I'll just go on driving it until I get imprisoned for debts, at which point I'll drive into Monaco harbour in a ball of flames (and hydraulic fluid)

Cheers

It's funny because it REALLY stands out to those who like Citroens and cars in general, and passes by largely un-noticed by chavs and the like who don't appreciate the fine art of 'wafting'!!
