Hi
Before anyone starts I have a nice expensive watch that as a result I do not like to wear everyday especially for work. I was looking for a ceramic watch and one made by Klaus Kobec has caught my eye. I know they are ridiculously over priced then reduced down but for £100 are they Ok as an everyday??
Thanks

What do you mean by OK for everyday? If you like the look of it and are not expecting it to hold any value on the second hand market then I cannot see the problem.

I meant for £100 I wouldn't expect it to 'feel' cheapo and for the bracelet to be smooth / nice weight etc which you can't tell looking online.

I have no experience with that particular brand but I would hazard a guess that you may be disappointed with the quality of finish etc For that sort of money I am sure that the boys on here will advise you accordingly.

I got given a Klaus Kobec V12 as a gift.

The quality and finish are very good but it's only worth the actual price paid, not the £RRP they claim.

The box is very nicely done too. smile

No direct experience but they do look a bit cheapo.

Wouldn't have thought any ceramic watch would have a "nice weight" compared with a steel one. Unless you really must have ceramic I'd get a nice Seiko, Christopher Ward or even a Werners as a daily beater.

I saw and bookmarked a very nice looking ceramic Breil in Beaverbrooks a few weeks ago for about the same money I think.

After browsing some more (and possibly doubling the budget!) I am now undecided on these:

Seiko - already have a ladies velatura and a coutura, not sure about the red decals and leather strap.

Rotary - bought a rotary havana as an emergency watch and never wore it as the quality was poor. Should have sent it back really but never got round to it so a bit put off but really like the (breitling) style of this:

Opinions appreciated.

What are you looking for in a watch? I can see you want a cheap, everyday watch that can't feel cheap. Anything else? Diver, sporty or dressy? Modern or classic design?

Personally I don't think they're even worth their reduced prices. I've seen the adverts in the back of the telly book and they go on about the value of expensive Swiss watches and then try and compare themselves to them, making out they are of a similar value but vastly reduced. They are in the same vein as Belmar watches, delusions of grandeur!!

Not to mention they are a QVC favourite! Say no more. Oh yeah, a bit of history here............ http://www.nominet.org.uk/disputes/caselaw/index/f...

I'd rather spend the money on a Seiko or similar.

Just my opinion of course..................

They're rubbish. My ex wife took a shine to one in the back of a magazine years back and when it finally arrived it was truly awful. Given she had a Tag as well, it looked and felt very very cheap.

Its here! Very nice and very pleased with it although its a bit large as I have small wrists. Having said that its all the rage to wear a large or even mans watch a la Trinny & Suzannah. Glad I went for it instead of the Klaus Kobec. I am now dithering on whether to buy the Rotary as well?!
