Gents,

My girlfriend has suggested buying me another for my birthday. The thing is, I have to wear it everyday, she has to like it and the budget is set at £400.

So far we have narrowed it down to these:

The problem is that I have very small wrists, so the Raymond weil and the last citizen are out of the game.
I have looked at the entry level Sinn but she doesn't like that, I considered a tissot t-touch but that revceived a negative reaction too.

Am I missing out any obvious choices? We looked at Seiko's but none really floated my boat.

All suggestions welcome.

I posted a picture of my PRC200 on the "Watch for under £50" thread... the Tissot is not under £50 obviously but I just got a Seiko 5 which is on the same wrist shot....check it out there, I have a bit of a girly wrist and its perfect for me...

It also comes with a metal band should you so desire but if you are looking at spending every penny of the £400 this is under budget

Careful with Raymond Weil. The prices are all over the place. You may be able to find a bargain.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I am not a huge fan of the Comex look-a-like I have to admit. I was in town earlier and I had a look at a Tissot 200 or whatever it is and I have to say that it is a lot of watch for the money. In fact, whilst shopping in that price range I began to ask why us WIS spend so much on watches... then I got a life and carried on biggrin

Look for second hand, that opens up some really nice pieces.

If 'she has to like it', I'd politely decline her offer.

Either she wants to buy you a watch or she doesn't.

In fact, I wouldn't even be polite.

Thanks guys for all your replies.

I had considered second hand but I cannot find anything that I like within the price set. There are a lot of vintage models available but I am looking for an everyday watch that is water proof.

Saw this in another thread recently and it looks good, plus it's available for under your budget.

Can get a glycine for around that?

Lum-tec are a bit different, but might be in budget?

I like that Tissot as well. For the budget, have a look at Hamilton (Ernest Jones stock them) and then buy from South Devon Watches on the bay.

Like someone else said, you could pick up a Glycine for that much.

Or a Fortis.

Thank you gents.

I have been looking at the Glycine range and I cannot really find anything that I really like. Lots of nice peices but nothing that I actually want. I do like some of the Glycine range but they tend to be about 3/4 times the budget.
None of the Fortis on Jura watches falls into the budget so those are out.

It turns out that Citizen have a different range for Europe than the UK, my girl friend is German and whilst browsing German amazon these two took my fancy:
front:

back:

or

The first is an automatic, with sapphire front and back glass etc, the second is a moonphase quartz with sapphire glass.

The only thing is the size. First is 42mm 2nd is 40mm, I am going to try on a 42mm and a 40mm today and decide on that.

Thanks for all your help, much appreciated.
