My wife's birthday is coming up and so I thought I might buy her a dress watch, she currently has a Tag Aquaracer, so something a bit more delicate and less 'sporty', up to £1,000.

I would be most grateful for any suggestions.

I am also looking for a present in the ladies section! There is s jeweller near me selling a lovely Omega Deville for 1005 it's really nice. Longines have some superb models in their range at the moment too, tissot have some nice ones and are much more affordable.
Some of the Cartier models come into your budget on the second hand market too.(just check austin kaye online for some)

Would you be looking for a new watch or a vintage?

The Raymond Weil looks nice, I think it has a sapphire crystal which makes a real difference. The other looks like a lot of money for a rotary.

The Rotary is gold but I know what you mean, just thought it was a nice looking watch. I will look at loads before I buy one, just hoping for some ideas from the internet smile

I bought one of these in the end.

Longines Grande Classique, it's a lovely elegant watch.
