'Desi' is a term used refer favourably to a homeland loving/originating South East Asian. 'Jat' is a Sikh/Punjabi tribe/group of people.

Have you deigned to watch the video, milord? Just click on the arrow and follow the instructions. It will help if you have a decent set of speakers.
Does this mean that Vauxhall VXR are going for the left wing subcontinental market? Did they realise this was going to happen when they bought the number? This opens a whole new world. After watching that I'm feeling pretty Desi myself, though I guess I don't qualify.

Didn't MR51 NGH (as in 'Mr Singh') become the UK's most expensive reg plate when it was sold? I just don't understand how they can go for so much money, I like personalised regs (I have one myself) but if I had the choice of a a really expensive plate or another Lambo I'd take the other car every single time without fail
It's a pride thing. (No pun intended, read on...)
I won't go in to the details, but male Sikhs all have the middle name Singh, which means Lion. Baptised Sikhs (and some non-baptised ones too) drop there family name, and use Singh as their surname.
