Watch buyers / experts. Planet Ocean Chrono
Discussion
Gents,
I've never been in to expensive watches as basically I lose them / damage them etc..
However, I have just turned the big 3-0 this week and fancy treating myself to a semi decent watch to mark the occasion.
I have decided on this planet ocean chrono
http://www.goldsmiths.co.uk/product.asp?cid=&p...
My question is.... where will I get the best deal on buying one of these? high street prices seem to be around the £3.5k mark
A finder website is quoting a 'new' one at £2850
I'm sure it is available elsewhere, at a better price!? can anyone help?
Airports / duty free not really an option as they are out of stock
cheers
Dave

Not sure if you have read any further into this forum but Omega are putting their prices up by an average of 8% on Monday so be quick...
ETA: I have gone on about Goldsmiths but they offered me 25% off last weekend without me even having to push. That was on a £2k watch so you should be OK for discounts as a cash buyer.
Look around the internet, print off some of the better prices from the sites and head onto the high street armed with all the info. Then simply play the likes of Goldsmiths, Beaverbrooks, Ernest Jones etc off against each other. I know time isn't on your side but if you do this during the next day and then head back onto PH and PM Dom H, he may be able to beat their best price - then everyone's a winner.
Good luck.

in black, that would be a very nice watch. i found goldsmiths to be excellent. i could not get discount though, as i had to half finance my seamaster auto. got a few free brews in with the deal though
i considered buying off the net. but with such an expensive item, if anything went wrong its nice and easier to be able to go into a reputable shop and sort the issue out
