Mercedes E320 - Hints and tips please.

Right, I will be honest I dont know anything about these cars but have been offered one on px for my van.
Seems OK to drive apart from the hard seats (is this a merc thing?).

Its R reg, V6 petrol 3.2L? Saloon. What mpg would I be seeing? Anything major to look out for? What are part prices like?

Good or steer clear? He is asking £600 - Yeah, I know its not £10,000+ but moneys tight at the mo

I understand that the V6s have suspect head-gaskets - definitely worth checking.

Also - check arches, sills and bootlid for rust.

Never heard of V6s suffering head gasket problems, the earlier straight 6s did though.
For that sort of money you can't go wrong, it's worth more than that in parts. However, rust will be the biggest issue. Check all bodywork, front spring perches and front suspension cross member.
