I have discovered that Seven Series BMWs (BMWs generally now I think about it) cost quite a bit more to own when not used than when they are in regular use, counter to common logic.

I think they like to punish you for leaving them neglected when all they want to do is be driven, and driven enthusiatically at that.

A 500% premium over another '98 540i Touring with 125k that isn't LHD. Good luck.

B10 V8 for half that thanks. biggrin

tis nice tho.
The wheels on it are lovely. Though they appear to be BMW/BBS ones rather than actual Hartges

Im drawn to this one, http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/2116399.htm ok its a few quid more, but it comes with 6 months warranty! Do you think this could be left standing for a month at a time and stand up to sporadic use?

All I can possibly say on here is don't waste your money coming to Ascot wink
Git.... was going to arrange a viewing today! Its not far from home.
The last PHer that went to view a car there was told to fk off when asking about service history and got his Elise kicked by the owner on the way out...

Wow.... thats good customer service. Might be worth a laugh to head down as its close.

FS.... just spilt tea all over my screen from laughing so hard...

An exert from their webste:

"Nearly all our cars are one owner with a full service history, supplied to Royle Ascot Motors directly from the Contract hire or Leasing company. We prefer these cars as they have been maintained regardless of expense, and the initial user looks after the vehicle as if it was there own. "

rofl

That aside, so an E38 is at least 9 years old, possibly 15. Leases take care of the first three years...

Oh yes, it's shed city there, all ex Mannheim stuff by the looks of it! Like the ex Addison Lee MPV with only 67000 miles, nearly pissed myself when I saw that knowing that they run them for 4 years/200000 miles!

They're probably not allowed to market themselves as Royal Ascot. Queenie can get a bit precious about that IIRC.

Royal Ascot Garage is the Jaguar/Land Rover place on the High St (Shytners) whereas Royle Ascot is what used to be H Mays Ford/Rover site

Also, Ref. the car: it looks like the wheels are pointing in different directions.

Ergo I cannot imagine it's anything other than massively fked.

It's Guy Salmon Jaguar/LandRover. RAG might be the address of it, but at least it is actually on the big island that comprises Ascot Racecourse's grounds.

When all is said and done, the spell is still strong with this one.
The idea of one is growing on me.

I see this is one still around (twice the cash though):
