Hi
I went shopping on saturday to help my other half choose a gift for my mum when I spotted the above in a jewellers in manchester, I'd been after a Panerai for a while but as with most of us i've been feeling the pinch but after trying it on I was sold.

Please excuse the crap iphone pics, I cannot find the memory card to my camera! But I will update this thread when I do!

Congratulations that's a great watch. I've started looking at them myself with left hand wind. Nice addition to you collection, enjoy.

I can't tell you how much I want one of these at the moment, I'm just a bit worried about the size; I need to get to an AD to try one on, but they are pretty few and far between. I've got the same Omega as you at the moment, how does it compare in size, is it really much bigger?

Excellent choice I treated myself to a PAM 104 just before christmas it's never off my wrist.

Check out Heroic18 & Toshi for straps I've bought 4 already.

If it doesn't feel/look right you could always try the PAM0048...40mm...like mine...
..which I had up for sale a while back...and still could be persuaded to part with for the right price wink

Guys- thanks for the comments!

Re: Matc it does feel bigger than my omega, not only in face but the strap, I also tend to wear leather straps fitted whereas my steel ones have a bit of play in them, so whereas the omega moves around a bit the pan stays put.

If i'm honest I wear the omega for work all day and it is one of the comfiest watches to wear, the pan feels a bit OTT for everyday use, IMO!

As mentioned above it may also be worth trying a 40mm.

Thanks for the feedback, I feel like I would like something a bit bigger than my Omega, but not too OTT. The 40mm might be a good option, I really need to get somewhere to try a couple on really.

Agoogy, I'll see how I get on with the sizes but maybe I'll try and tempt you once I've decided.

I bought a pam 104 in 2005 and upgraded it last year to a pam 140(basically the same watch but in gold with a carbon fibre dial)I still love the design of the luminor as much as when I first saw it.

if you get the 40mm, you will like it for a month or so and then regret you did not go for the real thing.
I know, because I did it..
Panerais are meant to be big: 44mm.
If you want small watches, you have to look elsewhere.

imho: 44mm or nothing.

Well I've lived with my tiny 40mm for quite some time now - upgraded it with a Toshi strap - and don't feel anywhere near short changed or in need of the 'real thing' (?)

Its hard enough as it is getting a shirt sleeve to fit over this one....the 44mm would I think be OTT for everyday use too.... if you did go that route, then it would be a watch for special occasions when wearing a T-shirt wink

Let me know if you're interested though...

Dare I say I think the smaller ones are more wearable than the larger ones, partly from a personal pov but I also think that watches may come down in size over the coming years. Just a guess and mho though.

Lovely watch, but I'm not sure I like brown straps with black dials.
