V8S idling.....

After a faultless 200 mile run on Sunday started the Tiv up just now and received a less than enthusiastic response! It seemed to be missing on 1, or maybe two (difficult to tell when you have 8) cylinders. A short blast and this seemed to clear itself.

Popped into shop for a few bits and when I re-started it turned over and fired up fine, but then stalled straight away. Same happened at my next port of call. Starts fine each time, but will not hold an idle.

I only cleaned the stepper motor the other day. Have just read all the appropriate sections of 'the bible' and to be honest am a little confused!

Could the mis-fire have upset the ECU (could reset it I suppose)?

Any suggestions?

Clean the stepper motor again, make sure it is air tight when you do it up, check for loose HT leads at the coil and at each plug, check the vac line to the fuel pressure regulator hasn't been dislodged.
